in response to Need_yeshua...I understand what you say all to well. The last 5 funerals I attended were a result of suicide. I pray for those that were left behind, with guilt and sorrow.
I believe in the power of prayer, and know in my heart that ours will be answered.
The number of jobless shall increase, but we have an answer.
the number of those struggling will also increase, but we have an answer.
It's even worse to know that suicide is bad this time of year.
I don't say to bum you out. I say that because I will pray for those we have both addressed, and have a heart for. I believe in God. I believe that God can do the impossible.
God answer's prayer. I will pray for you, and God will open door's for you to reach other's.
I will pray that God will reach out the the jobless, struggling, and those who have contemplated suicide. I'm glad, and thankful that God hear's my prayer's.
I have been in all 3 situations, and because of God. I am here my friend.

We live in West Subs of Chicago,IL. I am begging,pleading,asking,for help for my family. I realize it's 10 days until Christmas.I have done everything I can to try to get help. Good morning. I am a mother of 4, and my husband is a felon and it is very hard for him to get work. Our gas is cut off and we are trying to not let out lights get cut off. Designed to extend and strengthen the community safety net for at-risk families, Safe Families is a positive alternative to the state child welfare system, allowing parents to work out their problems without having to worry about losing custody of their kids. The program's goal is to reunite children with their biological parent(s) in a home that is more stable and healthy, in part because of the contribution of the Safe Families intervention.
Parents experiencing a temporary crisis can arrange for their children (newborn through 16 years old) to stay with Safe Families volunteers while they address the issues that led to the instability in their lives. Children are matched with families in their own community whenever possible, and placements average from one day to three months. During that time, Safe Families caseworkers are available to provide volunteers with support and answer any questions they might have.

Hello everyone! I am on this site for a little give and take. Let me explain a little about what I have to offer first..
I have always been a good listener. I am extremely empathetic and I moved out at a very young age of 14 years old and I have been through so many things, good and bad, I have traveled all over the place, I have had some amazing experiences and opportunities, and I really feel that I have alot of experience to back up the advice I frequently love to give when asked. All of my friends over the years have told me how grateful they are for my advice and how I listen and really care about what they are going through. And now I do this all the time in my volunteer work around the Chicago area, helping all kinds of people. And now I am on here to do the same!
Now for the take... I also need support now. I have been married about a year and a half now and I have a 10 month old baby. My husband is amazing. He is the best father and husband that I could ever ever hope to find. BUT.. he will be gone in about 2 weeks because of an accident that happened about 2 years ago. We are assuming he will be gone a minimum of 2 years. And now I have rent, utilities, cell phone, a car, insurance, diapers, baby food, doctors, and everything else to pay for..by myself! I think I can do an ok job financially, but it will be hard and I will miss him so so much and my baby adores him and Im nervous about what this will do to him long term.

My name is Melissa and I am 22 years old with 4 children we are African American living within a wealthily suburb. I have crones disease and bi-polar and had a lot of discrimination done to me, I have no drivers license my brother is constantly arrested last week he was going to get diapers on his bike with his girlfriend and they had a bottle of juice on them and the police stopped them claiming that they were looking for car robbers in the area we just got there one day before and my brother had nothing on him they stopped him I feel because of his race.

Hard working Florida family is falling behind. My husband does work as a handyman and providing pool service. With the crash in our real estate market, we haven't had a major job since February. Our family only has about 3 weeks and we will loose our home.

I had to refinance last year in June because I had gotten behind in my house taxes. the mortage company tht I used they tricked me and now no adjustment can be made. They gave me forebarance however it is unobtainable. I just need someone to help me to get caught up. I have a job, but I' so far behind that I can't pay my bill for high water, and gas utiulities. I'm a widower. you don't have give me the money if you could just sent it to the mortage company. I can't get finance because the mortage company that I'm now with has listed on my credit report foreclouse stareted. No one will refinance me. I have to pay $2,200 a month now with the forberance along with my other bills. I 'm behind $10,000 dollars and they will continue to report me lat ungte until all is caught up. Some people, like myself, might be willing to help other people in the same state/city but might ge discouraged if they don't know where you are.
First of all, take your phone # and private email off the net - it only opens you up to scammers.
2nd - have you talked to your mom about HER wishes? is there health care proxy in place? Has she made her final wishes known and are they in writing?
3rd - have you spoken to hospice about your financial situation? They may be able to assist in some way regarding your mom's care (at the very least) or they may know of additional assistance for you and your immediate family.
4th - go to your county child support unit, have them track down the missing mom and get child support! Regardless of where she is or what she is doing she still has a LEGAL obligation to support her son financially!
5th - call HelpLink 1-800-725-5314 - they should be able to refer you to a number of organizations in your area that can assist you.

piece of advice for those looking for help. Try posting your State and City. I do volunteer to help young homeless and single moms in the Chicago area with in-kind donations. I found some people here asking for baby items , baby clothes, etc, in here...unfortunately, there is no indication of the city they live in. Like me, other people might be discouraged by this.

Hello, I want to tell you about my family. First of all I am a husband and father of five children; Lauren-6 weeks old, Gabriel-2yrs old, Alex and Alexis both 14yrs old and Katelynn who would be 3yrs old, now lives with God. My wife is great and has stood by me thru thick and thin.
I have always worked hard to provide a roof over head and food on the table and I have always helped people in need whether iy was by giving money, providing food, offering my belongings or just by helping out physically. We are drug and alchohol free, we do not gamble, and we have never broken the law. We are a decent american family that has always paid our taxes and never asked the government for hand outs until recently when just after my daughter was born I was laid off from my job.
I am recovering from a total knee replacement surgery and my wife is still in the process of recovering from the child birth, so the first thing I have done is apply for unemployment which the system that I have paid into has failed to help me in my time of need. So I went to the Dept of public aid (welfare) to try to obtain at least some kind of food relief and I was denied because I made too much money when I was working last month, ( is that stupid or what) ,so I am not eligible to receive benefits for my family that has no food, and no income.
I have 2 children that need diapers, which i cannot buy, we have received a shut off notice for our lights and cooking gas, and home phone service, and our monthly rent is now overdue.
I have been actively looking for a job since I was laid off , but that will not do any good much longer if all of my utilites get shut off and we have no place to stay, where will this new job contact me at? Well, now you will understand my situation.
You may realize that no matter who you are or what your status is in life the same thing can happen to you and your family at any given time. Its how you help someone in need today that will affect your status with GOD.
So please help a father and devoted husband in need so that I can have time to get my family back on it's feet, My goal to get some kind of financial help in the area of about $5K to help sustain us until I can get working again and get back on my feet, but any little bit would help even if it is just enough to buy food or diapers I would be greatful.

My name is Kari and I am not sure where to go with my problem. I have exhausted all of my options, and if someone here can't help me, I don't know what I am going to do. Here is my story... Two months ago I was forced to leave my job as a sales associate in a department store. I was forced to leave. If I didn't leave I would have been fired. I missed too many days because of complications from being pregnant. I ended up having a miscarrage. I ended up with no job, $3000 in medical bills, and a very strained relationship with my boyfriend. I started looking for a new job and wasn't too worried. I have a college education and didn't think that finding a new job would be so difficult. Two months went by and I had emptied my bank account and maxed out my credit card. The pregnancy and financial hardship has ruined my relationship with my boyfriend, who I live with. We have broken up but still have to live together. I can't pay my bills or my share of the rent. It has gotten so bad that he does not want to live with me anymore. I can't even afford to feed myself. My ex boyfriend is never home so he doesn't buy food. I have no money and can't even afford to go to the grocery store so I can eat. I am going to bed hungry tonight while he is out. I live in the city and don't drive. I can't even afford to pay for the bus or the train.
The good news at the end of this is that I have been offered a job... a very well paying job, and I start on Monday, June 25th. The bad news is that I can't support myself until I get my first paycheck. Right now I can't even afford transportation to and from work.
I have exhausted all of my options and don't know where to turn. I am so depressed and worried about my future, and I am scared because I have never been in a situation like this. I have asked friends for money, but they can't give much. Both of my parents have died and so I can't turn to them. I tried to file for unemployment, but I don't qualify because I voluntarily left my job... eventhough I would have been fired. I have tried to get so many loans, but don't qualify. I can't get a payday loan because I haven't started my new job yet and they can't verify employment. I can't get approved for another credit card. I have nothing of any real value to sell. I don't know what else I can do.
I am so scared that I am going to end up homeless and that I am not going to be able to even get to my new job. I keep thinking that this is only temporary situation, and things will get better, but I really don't know what I am going to do. I am not necessarily looking for money, although a small loan would help. I just want to hear some suggestions on what I can do. I will be so grateful for any help and will do what ever I can do to help others on here in the future. I am desperate and willing to do anything to get out of this situation.
